Accountable Talk in English Language Learners Classroom. Increasing fluency output in lower and intermediate level of ELLs through authentic, culturally responsive reading and speaking activities. Establishing and developing a culture for independent learning by raising students awareness of the connections between literacy, reading comprehension, and fluency in daily and academic discussions in the classroom. Using technology to engage high school ELLs in intentionally designed speaking activities with the purpose of developing fluency in L2. Students practice and monitor their output progress and fluency through planned activities, presentations, and self-assessments on a recursive cycle of mediated learning in the language classroom.
